Engadine senior Hunter Cameron, a multifaceted football talent for the Eagles, has been added to the roster for this year’s U.P. All Star Football Game. Cameron’s addition to the game was announced late last week, earning the Eagles’ top talent the opportunity to compete in one of the biggest events of the year. The game will take place this June at the Superior Dome on the campus of Northern Michigan University.
Cameron was a standout on both offense and defense, while also shining on special teams for Engadine. He was often a guiding force for teams that struggled with low numbers and several young players. He set multiple records as a receiver, and was a UPSSA All UP Honorable Mention following his senior season last fall.
Cameron would’ve racked up more achievements, but Engadine’s newly independent status as a football program ended the opportunity for All Conference accolades. He led the Eagles with 310 yards receiving and caught seven touchdowns, while adding another 96 yards and a score running the ball. His 43 tackles were second on the team, and he finished the season with an interception and a blocked field goal. Cameron also was a kicker on the special teams unit during his high school career.
The Eagles only played six varsity games during the 2024 season.
“It feels pretty amazing to be selected and play with all the great players in the U.P.,” Cameron said. “I’m more than excited to be able to play one more football game.” He says he hopes to take in the full experience. “I’m really looking forward to meeting all the people who got selected and make new friends over the week,” he said.
