The Tahquamenon Area Schools Board of Education approved the 2024-2025 budget at a special school board meeting on Thursday, June 27. The approved budget increased spending in school administration by nearly 39% over last year’s final amended budget, and increased transportation by 14%. Pupil support dropped by 12% and operations and maintenance dropped by 6%. Numbers for the 2024-2025 budget are preliminary, Board President Stuart McTiver said, and the board will have quarterly opportunities to amend the budget during the upcoming school year.
