Wesley Leland Leech

Wesley Leland Leech, Cumming, GA, 88, passed away January13, 2021 at his home. He was born June 30, 1932, in Newberry, Michigan and preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lauretta Leech. Wesley is survived by his wife of 65 years, Trilby (Braswell) Leech, daughters Cynthia Leech and Pamela (Steve) Katz, four grandchildren: June (Jason) Denis, Wesley Chapin, Christopher and Kevin Katz and a great grandson, Luke Andrew Denis. Wesley was a veteran of the US Army.  He retired after 40 years with the Bell Telephone System. He enjoyed travel of every kind with his wife and family. The family of Wesley want to thank from the bottom of their hearts Megan Mullinax and Natalya Hoose, caregivers of Home Instead Senior Care who gave their all in caring for him.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rivercliff Lutheran Church in Sandy Springs where Wes and his wife are members.

Jerry Randolf Wicker

Longtime Naubinway resident, Jerry Randolf Wicker, 73, died Sunday afternoon January 17, 2021 at his residence in the presence of his loving family and the care of Schoolcraft Memorial Hospice. Born April 12, 1947 in Eckerman, Jerry was raised by his foster parents and was a 1965 graduate of Engadine High School. During his lifetime, Jerry held various employments and most recently was employed at the former Newberry Regional Mental Health Center as an activity therapy aide until his retirement in 1990. Jerry was a member of St. Stephen Mission, the National Rifle Association and his hobbies included woodworking, fishing and weight lifting. Jerry also loved animals, his home and his family. Jerry is preceded in death by his foster parents Eva and George Holmes and Truman Miller. Survivors include his loving wife, the former Sherry Williams, whom he married April 24, 1971; daughter Anyssa (Bill) Belonga of Rexton; grandchildren Dennis (Ashley) Borowski of Escanaba and Billy and Hana Belonga of Rexton; brother Roger (Debby) Yiirs of Knoxville, TN; his black lab companion Loki. A gathering of family and friends will take place Friday January 22, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Naubinway.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at the church with Fr. Marty Flynn officiating.  Rite of Committal will take place in the spring at the Naubinway Cemetery.  Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks are required in accordance of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
