A number of millage renewal requests were on the agenda of the regular monthly Luce County Commissioners meeting held Tuesday, July 20 at 4:30 p.m.
A total of four renewal questions will be placed on the November 2021 ballot. All four are millage renewals.
The Luce County Parks and Recreation and MSU Extension millage renewal is for 1.00 mills.
Luce County Sheriff John Cischke requested the 1.00 mills renewal to be placed on the 2021 ballot. This millage provides continued funding for two sheriff deputies, along with necessary equipment.
The board also approved the request from Judge Graham for a millage renewal for .5 mills for the purpose of child care for centers.
Finally, the millage renewal question for the Luce County Airport for .5 mills was approved.
The commission also voted to approve the request from Helen Newberry Joy Hospital to authorize the refinancing of existing bonds.
The board heard reports from Luce County Airport Manager Dan Ellis, and from Chris Peterson, Luce County Emergency Management director.
Also approved that evening was the bid from Johnson Controls for a new heating and cooling system for the county building.
