A crash involving a dirt bike and a parked pickup truck on M-77 Sunday night resulted in the death of a Germfask man.
On June 21, 2026, at approximately 10:50 p.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police Manistique Outpost responded to a reported traffic crash on M-77 near Grant Road in Germfask Township.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 33-year-old Germfask man was operating a dirt bike on M-77 when he struck a legally parked pickup truck located on the shoulder of the roadway.
Despite life-saving efforts by two citizens, responding troopers, and EMS personnel, the man sustained fatal injuries.
He was pronounced deceased while being transported to the hospital by EMS.
Alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
