The Village of Newberry will be hosting a scrap tire collection event for village residents on Saturday, September 23 from 8:30 a.m. until noon (or when the trailer is full).
The collection will take place at the Village Recycling Center located at 310 East McMillan Avenue.
The tires accepted are from residential properties only and passenger tires with no rims. Tires must be free of dirt and debris. Residents are allowed to recycle 10 tires per household and all items will be accepted free of charge.
The following items will be prohibited:
—Tires from commercial businesses
—Dirty tires
—Tires on rims
—OTR tires
—Rubber tracks of any kind
—Inner tubes
—Airplane tires, solid/gel filled tires, golf cart tires on rims.
—Construction loafer tires, forestry tires of any kind.
—Earth mover equipment tires, heavy equipment tires.
Be prepared to provide ID showing proof of residence.
The event is supported by a grant from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) and in partnership with the Geocycle/CM Recycling.
