The Paradise Area Community Foundation (PACF) is in need of a new logo and has announced a design competition open to area high school students. In announcing the competition, PACF Chairman, Mike Hobbs said.

“Our community foundation is very focused on supporting area youth,” Hobbs said. “We have provided scholarships over the years and are always looking for new ways to invest in young people.”

When discussing the need for a new logo, the board decided it would be a great project for high school students.

“We think this is a great opportunity for area students, especially those who may be considering graphic arts, marketing, or a related career,” Hobbs said. “We are grateful to area high school teachers who have signed on to support and mentor interested students.”

The competition is open to any high school student in Chippewa and Luce counties. Students may work individually or in collaboration with other students (who will share in the prize money if they create the winning logo). The prize for the winning logo, if one is selected, is $500. Up to three finalists will present their designs to the PACF board. Finalists are eligible for a $100 prize.

Interested students will find more information on the PACF Facebook page or they can email the competition coordinator, Mr. Kerry Laycock at dklaycock@ameritech.net. Submissions are due by April 15, 2025.

“We know there are lots of talented kids out there,” Hobbs said. “We look forward to seeing their ideas.”
