For two years in a row, local pug Lola has been crowned queen at the Bluegrass Pugfest, and she’s looking for a threepeat!
If you’ve been to Newberry Animal Clinic, chances are you’ve met Lola. This one-eyed beauty goes to work with her human mom, veterinary assistant Priscilla Crist, and spends her time getting and giving love to staff and visitors alike.
Lola has been crowned the Pugfest queen at the festival for two years running, thanks to the votes of all her family and friends. Before Lola, no pug had ever won the queen title twice. Now she’s determined to set another record by winning three times!
Lola’s voting profile reads: “Lola is a 6-year-old service dog with one eye. [In] Lola’s back left foot, 75% of the bone never developed, but you would never know. Lola loves everyone and goes to work at Newberry Animal Clinic with her mom. Lola loves to help her furry friends by raising money for the Pug organizations. Please help Lola be a triple crown winner.”
To vote for Lola, visit https://bit.ly/VotePugLola (case sensitive). There is a $1 per-vote fee, and all proceeds go toward paying medical bills for rescued pugs. According to the Bluegrass Pugfest website, last year’s contest raised over $11,000; this year’s goal is $15,000.
Voting is open April 1 – April 30. First place male and female pugs will be named King and Queen, second place will be named Prince and Princess, and third will be Duke and Duchess.
Winners will be announced at the 2025 Bluegrass Pugfest celebration in Louisville, KY, June 7-8.
