The Newberry High School football program and the Luce County Veterans Service Office are again teaming up to host the Newberry High School Football Patriot Game. This year will be the 3rd annual Patriot Game.
The Indians take on Crystal Falls Forest Park in the Patriot Game, which is also the 2024 season opener.
The NHS Patriot Game pays tribute to Veterans and raises funds for local programs that assist them. Luce County Veterans and surviving spouses will receive free entry to the game. Entry to the game will include VIP Seating on the 50-yard line, and a free food voucher for a meal from Styes Guys UP BBQ. Local Vets and surviving spouses can reserve their spot and register for the event by contacting Luce County Veterans Service Officer Rick Minard at (906) 293-4890 or by emailing lucevso@lighthouse.net.
Special edition Patriot Game t-Shirts will also be for sale at the game. All proceeds will be donated to local luce county veterans. Northland Harvesting of Newberry already donated to the 2024 Patriot Game, sponsoring the game ball. The game ball is a limited edition red, white, and blue American Flag edition. It will be auctioned after the game, and game ball proceeds will be donated to the NHS Football Program and local Veterans. Donations will also be accepted on game day, and Styes Guys UP BBQ and the football program will offer items during the game with a portion of the proceeds going to the cause as well.
