The Newberry Boys and Girls golf teams celebrated multiple seasons of success at their end of the season banquet last week. Coach Kenn Depew welcomed his 2026 team members and their families while also celebrating both the 2025 girls and 2025 boys state championships after being unable to host a banquet last season.
Depew praised the growth of his squads, who over the past two seasons were among the elite teams in the sport while featuring some of the youngest rosters. Depew has also seen a record number of athletes in the golf program.
Depew presented the following awards during the ceremony.

2025 MHSAA Division 2 State Champions (1st Girls State Golf title since 1974)
