The Engadine-Naubinway Lions continued their tradition of helping teachers purchase needed supplies. This year, the Lions donated more than $1,630 to five teachers at Engadine Consolidated Schools.
Every teacher who applied for the Education Enhancement Grant received their requested funding. This year’s grants include:
$500 to enhance art supplies for grades
$197 for noise reduction headphones for grades K-6
$439 for fifth grade computer charging station and bean bag chairs
$244 for kindergarten science craft supplies
$250 for preschool picnic table
These grants continue the Lions’ tradition of helping students, teachers, and families in our area. In the past seven years, local Lions have donated over $30,000 to school activities, including scholarships, music, the arts, and athletics.
Without the generous support of the community, this assistance would be impossible.
The Lions’ next fundraiser will be a homemade pie sale at the annual Christmas Bazaar, Sunday, December 8, 12-4, at Engadine schools. Pies will be fresh baked, or frozen and ready to bake during the holidays. A variety will be available — wild blueberry, cranberry, apple, pumpkin, pecan, and more. All purchases include a pie plate to keep.
Engadine-Naubinway Lions meet at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Snowmobile Museum in Naubinway. All in the area are welcome to join.
