The Detroit Free Press reports that it was a light harvest year all around in Michigan. Hunting seasons in 2023 yielded 154,940 deer in 2023 and dropped to 132,810 deer in 2024. It was much higher in 2020, when hunters claimed 411,000 deer in all seasons combined. Sales for hunting licenses were relatively flat.
