Pro boater Hunter Wilkinson and Veteran angler Loran Symonds took top honors at the 9th Annual Luce County Veterans Appreciation Bass Classic on South Manistique Lake on Sunday, June 7th, claiming the 1st place prize of $1,000.00 with 5 bass weighing a total of 15.44 pounds.
Pro boater Scott Cormier and Veteran Curt Taylor brought in a solid limit weighing 15.36 to take home $600 and 2nd place.
Pro boater Glenn “Casey” Cook and Veteran Gary Bowman landed in 3rd place with a 14.81 limit, collecting $400 in the tightest race in tournament history, with less than a half ounce separating the Top 3 finishers.
Pro boater Dan Anderson and Vet Andy Drier finished 4th, collecting $300 with 14.02. Pro boater Jeff Sicotte and Veteran Mike Needham rounded out the Top 5 with 13.44, winning $200.
Pro Boater Chris Sicotte and Veteran Dan VanHorn took 6th with 13.35 and VanHorn had the $100 Newberry Motors Veteran “BIG BASS” weighing 3.81.
7th Place Boater-Veteran, Rod DeClark and Jake Edwards, 13.33; 8th Place Teddi Baxter and Dale Hardy, 13.26; 9th Place Owen Suenen, Sr. and Ken Rohloff, 12.98 with Suenen taking the Newberry Motors $100 Pro Boater “BIG BASS” cash, weighing 3.81. Rounding out the Top 10 was Colter Lubben and Mike Kraft with 12.77.
