Dawn Marie Jamieson
March 25, 1952 – March 14, 2026
Dawn Marie Jamieson, born on March 25, 1952, in Newberry, MI, passed away on March 14, 2026, at the age of 73. A dedicated nurse aide and medical biller, she spent many years caring for others at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital. Dawn had a passion for cooking, baking, and canning, skills she shared with family and friends gathered around her warm kitchen. She loved spending time picking blueberries, a joyful activity she continued until the age of 72.
For several years, Dawn served as the chairperson for bingo at the American Legion Post 74, where her vibrant spirit and laughter brought joy to the community. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the love she poured into everything she did. Dawn will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Dawn is survived by her loving family, including her sons, John (Polly Manning) and Robert Dewitt (Denise Yeadon); daughters, Rebecca Wheeler and Heather Flatt (Jonathan); sister, Jacqueline Alto (Ken); sister-in-law, Marsha Gooseberry; special friend, John Marsh and friend Cathy Egert. She cherished her grandchildren, Oren, Isabella, Riley, Derrick, Madelyn, and Nicholas, and took great pride in being a part of their lives. Dawn also leaves behind her beloved pets, both past and present, including King, Harley, Maggie, and Cinder, who welcomed her at the gates of heaven. Her current furry friends, Coco, Donut, Mimi, Poppy, and Rudy the cow, will miss her dearly.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Emma Gooseberry; brother, Robert Gooseberry, and good friend, Sharon Painter.

Cristyne (Sorn) Kihm
February 7, 1929 – March 15, 2026
Cristyne Kihm (Sorn), 97, passed away peacefully at Golden Leaves Living Center on March 15, 2026. She was born on February 7, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Alma and Albert Sorn. She married the love of her life, the late Frank Kihm, on November 13, 1947.
Cris began her career as a switchboard operator at Cincinnati Bell before leaving to become a devoted stay-at-home mother to her three sons. She and Frank retired early and spent many joyful winters in Fort Myers Beach, Florida, where she loved collecting shells and fishing with Frank.
In 1996, Cris moved to Curtis, Michigan. She volunteered at the Seney National Wildlife Refuge and was an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Ladies. She was also an active member of the Curtis Women’s Club, serving as President for several years. Cris enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, and was known for being remarkably handy with a toolbox. She lovingly created countless afghans for family and friends.
Cris is survived by her sons David (Lynn) Kihm of Curtis, MI, and John (Debbie) Kihm of Loveland, OH; grandchildren Zachary (Bobbi) Kihm of Marquette, MI, Jennifer Kihm of Curtis, MI, and Tammy Ousley of Batavia, OH; and great-grandchildren Charlie, JoJo, Joshua, Ruby, Lorelei, and Kannon. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Jerry (Becky) Paar, Keith Paar, Rich Paar, Jan (Dale) Schroeder, and Dutch (Joyce) Lutterbie.
She was preceded in death by her son Michael Kihm; daughter-in-law Pam (Hoberg) Kihm; grandson Andrew Kihm; sisters Gayle Wesson, Edyth Sorn, and Alma Lutterbie; and brother Albert Lee Sorn.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Golden Leaves Living Center, including the kitchen staff, for their wonderful care. Cris especially enjoyed playing Bingo and Yahtzee and looked forward to cheeseburgers at lunch. The family also extends their deep appreciation to Pastor Melinda VanderSys for her spiritual comfort and support.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and her ashes will be returned to Cincinnati, Ohio, for interment alongside her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Golden Leaves Living Center Activities Department in her memory.
A celebration of life will be planned for a future date in spring or summer 2026.
