Tracie Lyn Bennett
September 2, 1961 – November 14, 2023

Tracie Lyn Bennett, 62, of McMillan, died Tuesday morning November 14, 2023 at her residence in the presence of her loving family and the care of North Woods Hospice.

Born September 2, 1961 in Pontiac, daughter of James and Marjorie (Graves) McDonald, Tracie met Robert Bennett in Pontiac, were united in marriage and moved to the Newberry area in the early 1980’s where they raised six children.  Later in life, Tracie married Larry Stone on February 16, 2006 in Las Vegas, gaining two step children.

Tracie loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing.  Tracie was known as a hard worker and a devoted mother raising her family. She had a strong spirit and also a stubborn streak. She loved everyone that showed her kindness and will be missed by many.

Tracie is preceded in death by her father James McDonald.

Survivors include her loving husband, Larry Stone, of McMillan; mother Marjorie McDonald of Imlay City; children Theresa (Jason “Ace”) Depew of Newberry, Jessica (David Kroll) Bennett of McMillan, Jennifer (Greg) McDaniel of Chapin, South Carolina, Jonathon (Ashley) Bennett of Conway, South Carolina, Dawn (Jess) Chambers of Kalkaska and Angela (Cody) Hall of Conway, South Carolina; step children Brian (Austin) Stone of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and Lisa (Brian) Foster of Tallassee, Alabama; 29 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; siblings Kathy (Steve) Andritsis of Attica, Shawn (Sherri) McDonald of Imlay City, Kelly (Michelle) McDonald of Imlay City and Shannon (Cindi) McDonald of Clio; several nieces and nephews.

Per request, cremation services were accorded.  A gathering of family and friends celebrating the life of Tracie will be held Sunday November 19, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Columbus Township Hall in McMillan.

Peter C. Legault
May 8, 1935 – November 16, 2023

Longtime Engadine resident, Peter Charles Legault, 88, died Thursday evening November 16, 2023 at his residence.

Born May 8, 1935 at the family homestead in Gould City, son of the late Arthur Sr. and Eva (Butkovich) Legault, Pete was a 1955 graduate of Engadine High School.

On May 7, 1958, Pete enlisted into the United States Army serving until his honorable discharge on May 4, 1960, attaining the rank of Specialist Fourth Class.

On December 1, 1962, Pete married the former Ruthann Shaw in Detour.  A resident of Engadine since 1971, Pete was a career journeyman/lineman with Edan Contractors, Clifton Engineering and later with Cloverland Electric for several years until his retirement in 2019.

Pete formerly served on the board for Cloverland Electric, member of the V.F.W. Post #8372 and lifetime member of the N.R.A.   His hobbies included working in the woods, riding around in his buggy, playing cards, farming and watching his grandchildren participate in athletic events.

In addition to his parents, Pete is preceded in death by his wife, Ruthann, on December 25, 2018, siblings Earl Legault, Tom Legault, Carl “Joe” Legault, Agnes Pardo and Mary Rose.

Survivors include his children Charles (Rhonda) Legault of Engadine, Georgette Legault of Cheboygan, Peter Legault of Laramie, Wyoming and Leigh (Dan) McGill of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren Devon, Andrew, Amelia, Monica, Madeline, Pierce, Robynne and Patrick; great grandson Hudson; brother Bud Legault of Engadine; several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family friends will take place Friday December 1, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Beaulieu Funeral Home.  A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Fr. Jacek Wtyklo officiating.  Rite of Committal with full military rites conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard and the American Legion Post #290 will take place in 2024 at the Engadine Cemetery.
