Clara Alice Schroeder
March 2, 1929 – September 1, 2024

Clara Alice Schroeder, age 95, left her earthly home on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the home of her daughter, Barbara, in Missouri with family at her bedside.  She was born on March 2, 1929, to William and Pearl Freeman, one of five children.  She married Edward Schroeder, Sr., on August 10, 1950, in Engadine, where they resided for the rest of their lives.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 2004.  Also preceding her were her parents, brother William Freeman, sisters Joyce Freeman and Betty Yaeger, nieces Laura Yaeger and Susan and Mary Freeman, and nephew Daniel Yaeger.

Clara is survived by her daughter, Barbara Michel, son Alan Schroeder, daughter Debbie (Bill) Clark, and son Edward (Cynthia) Schroeder.  Grandchildren – Greg (Holly) Michel, Jeff Michel, Alan (Melissa) Schroeder, Missey Schroeder (Bob Martell), Robert (Holly) Clark, Stephanie (Joshua) Fulcher, Jennifer Cain, Caitlin (Zach) Bratschi and Bill (Kerri) Clark.  Great Grandchildren – Charlie and Noah Michel, Alyssa, Logan and Xavier Michel, Lexi and Maddie Schroeder and Austin and Gage Johnson, Devin, Brett, Ava, Emma, Robert and Aubrey Martell, Austin and Connor Clark, Hayden, Avery and Kole Fulcher, Hunter and Lily Cain, Addison, Jillian and Cole Bratschi and Melissa and Michael Clark. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Clara enjoyed knitting, traveling, word games, sometimes the casino, going for rides anywhere, her Tuesday lunch group, and most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.  Clara retired from the Department of Mental Health where she worked for many years.

Recently, Clara shared all kinds of memories with family of her life and the life she had with her husband.  Clara wanted those who knew her to know how much she cared and loved each and every one of them.

Per request, cremation services were accorded.  Visitation will be at the Beaulieu Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm.  Family will then attend the graveside service officiated by Pastor Kuehl at the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery following visitation.

In lieu of flowers, Clara wished for memorials to be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, 711 Newberry Avenue, Newberry, Michigan, 49868, where she has been a member for many years.
