Francis Richardson

Francis Alvin “Mouse” Richardson, 79, of Newberry, died Sunday morning, August 4, 2024 at his residence in the presence of his loving family and the care of North Woods Hospice.
Born October 28, 1944 in Newberry, son of the late Jessie and Elizabeth (Revord) Richardson, Mouse was a graduate of Newberry High School. On August 17, 1964, Mouse enlisted into the Army National Guard of Michigan serving until his discharge on January 2, 1970 attaining the rank of Specialist Fourth Class.
Mouse was employed as an attendant nurse at the former Newberry Regional Mental Health Center for 25 years, Newberry Redi Mix for five years and worked in other part time employments including Matt’s Furniture and masonry work with Emerson Smith.
Mouse enjoyed coffee with his friends at the former Paul Bunyon, Island Grill and Pickelman’s Pantry. He also enjoyed running and exercising at the Wellness Center. Mouse was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by his family.
In addition to his parents, Mouse is preceded in death by his brother Gary Richardson.
Survivors include his loving wife, the former Arlene “Chick” LaRose of Newberry, whom he married November 11, 1967 in Newberry; children Milton (Dawn) Baldwin of Newberry and Lisa (Bob) Hummelgard of Newberry; grandchildren Katie (Gordy) Omen, Richelle (Tim) O’Neil, Destiny (Roland) Hutchinson and Haley (Dave) Int Hout; great-grandchildren Owen Anderson, Levi Anderson and Grayson Hutchinson.
Per request, cremation services were accorded with no public services scheduled.
