Michael A. Schneider
September 19, 1960 – July 6, 2024
Michael Anthony Schneider, the son of Jeannette and Robert Schneider, passed away unexpectantly on July 6, 2024 in Glendive, Montana. Mike was born in Hart, Michigan on September 19, 1960, and moved to Newberry, Michigan when he was a young child. He graduated from Newberry High School in 1978. Mike has lived in Glendive for the past 20 years.
Mike was an extremely hard worker, and it was often said he did the work of 2 men. He worked in a variety of trades over the years, from ocean fishing, oil field work, road construction, building construction and even a bartender.
Mike loved nature, hiking, agate hunting, reading, animals (especially his pets, current and past) and everything outdoors. Another fact most people don’t know is that he was an incredible artist, and one piece in particular is still on display at Tahquamenon Area Schools (Newberry, Michigan). While most of his adult life he suffered from alcohol abuse, he was proud to have lived the last year sober. Mike was a very passionate, deep thinking & a caring person with photographic memory.
He was preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by his siblings, Robert (Trudy) Schneider, John (Karen) Schneider, Jim Schneider, Lisa (Scott) Swanson and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his five children, Eric, Michael, Victoria, Christopher and Joshua. They truly meant the world to him, although he struggled with conveying his love and sentiment towards them.
A celebration of life memorial will take place Saturday, July 13th, 2024 in the outdoor courtyard at Bloom Coffeehouse & Eatery (209 Gibson Street) at 6:30 PM. Family and friends are invited to attend to share their memories and fellowship. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.
