Ronald Ketvirtis
April 27, 1937 – March 26, 2023

Ronnie Ketvirtis, age 85 passed away peacefully Sunday, March 26th at his home in Sterling Heights, Michigan. A beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Ronnie George Ketvirtis was born April 27, 1937 in Newberry, Michigan to Charles and Mary (nee: Dubulski) Ketvirtis.

He was a 1956 graduate of Newberry High school, where he lettered in basketball, and went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1956 until he was honorably discharged in 1959. He hired on with the Michigan Department of Transportation where he worked as a Bridge Inspector for 40 years. His proudest work was on the International Bridge connecting Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada.

He met Gloria Weston of Warren, Michigan in Newberry while she was in nursing school. Ron married his love December 8, 1962 and had recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Even though Ron and Gloria lived in Sterling Heights they made frequent visits up north to Newberry and Round Lake in the summers making many cherished family memories. His main focus in life was his family and he always made time to sit, listen and offer them sound advice. His sense of humor and homespun wisdom will be deeply missed and long remembered.

He enjoyed playing with and coaching his boys in sports and attending his grandkids’ events; always taking great pride in their achievements. He also loved watching his sports channels, especially Detroit Red Wings Hockey and College Basketball games and was a longtime Detroit Tiger’s season ticket holder.

Ron leaves behind his wife Gloria, children; Jeff, Jim (Kristine), Tim (Laurie) and Dan (Christina) Ketvirtis, grandchildren; Henry (Amy), Kevin, Ronald, Matthew, and Andrew, his sister Mary Ann, sisters-in-law; Marie, Judy and Bonnie, brother-in-law David and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Charles, George, Bernice Stehle, John, Stanley, Elmer, Bill and Gerry.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:30am Saturday, April 15, 2023 with Instate 10:30am at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 43300 Garfield Rd, Clinton Twp., Michigan 48038.
