Troopers and detectives with the Michigan State Police Manistique Outpost and Gladstone Post are currently investigating a missing person, 
. She was last seen on August 2 on Michibay Beach near the Manistique Township Park. A search of the area near the beach by MSP canines and the Marine Services Team proved unsuccessful.
On August 9th, an unidentified body was discovered in Lake Michigan on the Western Shore of Beaver Island. A postmortem examination was conducted on August 12th.
Dental records were used to positively identify the body as Kristen Terrian. The autopsy has not yet been completed and pends further laboratory studies. Her family has been notified by MSP detectives.
“This is not the outcome any of us wanted,” stated F/Lt Mike Shaw, MSP Public Information Officer. “We offer our condolences to Kristen’s family and our community.”
Detectives are still continuing to investigate this case and are asking that anyone with information contact the Post.
