This year’s Luce-West Mackinac County Fair will not take place.

According to fair board Vice President Henry Conway, the board decided to cancel the annual fair due to health reasons and a lack of officers being able to be present.

“With the officers not being able to be present, we can’t try and run everything around the fairgrounds with just three people,” Conway said.

There will still be some activity on the fairgrounds, however.

The TNT Demolition Derby Bump-and-Run, has also been canceled for this year.

There will also be a horsemanship clinic with judge Paul Ferris at the fairgrounds on beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 26 Registration starts at 8 a.m. The speed show will take place at 12 p.m.

The horse show will take place at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 27.
