McLean Sales and Service, a longtime appliance retailer and repair shop in Newberry, has changed hands. The business, owned and operated for many years by John and Denise McLean, was officially sold on Oct. 20 to Ben and Beth Rahilly. The new owners have renamed the business Newberry Appliance Sales and Service, a change Ben Rahilly said was needed to update state and vendor paperwork.

Aside from the new name, customers will find the familiar shop largely unchanged. Rahilly said the store’s floor layout has been adjusted slightly to improve flow, but the overall look, services, and inventory remain consistent with what the McLeans offered.

“We want to run it like John and Denise,” Rahilly said, noting that pricing structures and store hours will stay the same under the new ownership. Maintaining continuity was important to the Rahillys, who hope longtime customers will experience a smooth transition.

One operational change involves staffing. The McLeans’ service technician retired prior to the sale, and Rahilly has hired Ryan Cole to take over appliance service calls. Cole will handle repairs for all brands and models, regardless of whether the appliance was purchased at the store.

Rahilly emphasized that the business will continue honoring and servicing old warranty work completed under the McLeans’ tenure.
