Spoiler alert: Super Bowl 59 is going to be a nailbiter The never-wrong shelter cats at the Luce County Animal Shelter revealed their Super Bowl LIX prediction following a tense taste test session wherein they refused to select a Super Bowl winner.
They duly considered the Philadelphia Eagles, with impressive QB Jalen Hurts, but dismissed them with a sniff.
“He’s an underdog,” said adoptable cat Dorian, who does not like dogs.
Regarding the Chiefs, adoptable cat Astro has had quite enough. “They pay the referees to help them win,” Astro said. “I can’t respect that.”
Readers should note that Astro’s claims have yet to be proven or disproven, but many football viewers agree with him.
To celebrate Super Bowl 59 and help find homes for the seven half-grown kittens and 29 adoptable cats at the Luce County Animal Shelter, the shelter is offering a discount. Use QB Patrick Mahomes’s jersey number 15 for a $15 discount off the adoption fee.
“I’m worth the full price,” said Rowan, admiring his golden eyes, “but you could buy me some catnip with your savings.”
All cats agreed they would love to watch the Super Bowl on a couch in their new home(s), and their shelter siblings concurred.
The Super Bowl deal is good through the month of February regardless who wins the Super Bowl.
To qualify for the adoption fee discount, individuals must successfully complete an adoption application by providing information, listing personal references and paying the remainder of the $75 adoption fee.
Information about the kittens and cats who are available for adoption and the adoption application are available on the shelter’s website at www.lucecoanimalshelter.com.
Interested individuals also can call the shelter at (906) 293-6622 and leave a message if necessary. It’s important to note that the shelter is open by appointment only, as staff are only part-time and not always available to answer telephone calls. Messages will be returned.
