Construction has begun on a new locomotive storage and maintenance building, which will be located off East Railroad Street, just a short distance from the old train station. According to Foxy Rail Systems, a part of WATCO, the new building will provide locomotive storage during the winter months. This make it easier to start locomotives during very cold months. A cement engine inspection pit was installed several weeks ago.

R.M. Petrie Builders and Sons are constructing the building. The railroad company will also keep the historic railroad passenger station, which was constructed in 1907. Plans are in the works to replace the station’s roof sometime this year. Currently, the depot is serving as offices for the railroad company and there is no plan to remove or replace the structure.
