Each Holiday season, members of the Newberry Fire Department gather to spread holiday cheer to kids and adults of the Newberry community as a way of supporting those who support the department.

On two separate evenings, we gave out turkeys at Mac’s Super Valu and Rahilly’s IGA to lucky shoppers for their holiday meals. A total of 60 turkeys were handed out.

Firefighters visited the CLM Community Action Headstart and gave each child a new winter hat and set of mittens.

The department also worked with Anderson’s Twin Lakes Tree Farm to donate Christmas trees to several families, compliments of the Newberry Fire Department.

Local veteran Bud Bristow received several gifts during a visit to his home by members of the department.

On Christmas morning, firefighters visited Golden Leaves Living Center, Newberry Assisted Living Community and Christiansen’s Tender Loving Care to wish the residents and staff a Merry Christmas and hand out small gift bags.

This is just a few ways that the Newberry Fire Department is honored to be able to spread some holiday cheer around the community, again giving back to our community that supports us throughout the rest of the year. This is all made possible by the support for the fundraising efforts we have throughout the year.
