Happy almost Fall! Luce County Pet Pals is excited to announce a new event: the Paws for Pets 5K Walk and Fall Festival! This will take place on Saturday September 19, at the TORC park (just north of the railroad tracks on M 123 in Newberry). Rain or Shine!
There will be a 5K fun walk starting at 10:30 a.m.; dogs are welcome as long as they are on a maximum 6 ft leash and are social. Starting at 9:30 a.m. there will also be a bake sale, basket raffle, and an opportunity to have your and/or your dog’s picture taken with a fall background. Come for any or all of the activities! Please note the track at the park is .3/mile, so it’s easy to walk as much or little as you’d like.
Luce County Pet Pals is a 501(c)3 organization that depends on donations and grants to provide our services to families/pets living in and around Luce County. Last fiscal year we helped 94 pets with spay/neuter costs, emergency vet bills, and T/N/R program. We also provided a monthly pet food pantry, where we have helped 360 families, 770 dogs, and 854 cats.
Cost for this event is by donation. If you would like to ask family or friends to sponsor your walk, that’s great (but not required). Those that donate for the walk will be gifted with a dog or cat themed swag bag while supplies last.
If you would like to participate, but are not able to attend, we are offering a virtual option. It’s easy – all you need to do is contact Tina at the number(s) below prior to September 18. Donations can be made via PayPal, and she will send you a swag bag as a thank you gift.
