On Tuesday, November 11, America will honor past and present individuals who have served in the United States Armed Forces with Veterans Day.

Locally, a number of programs will take place throughout the day. Those will include ceremonies and meals free of charge for veterans.

Newberry
Tahquamenon Area School will present their annual Veterans Day program at 9 a.m. in the J.L DeCook Gymnasium.

The ceremony will include readings and songs performed by students. Selections by the Newberry High School Band will be presented.

The American Legion Post 74 will offer a Veterans Day meal special on November 11 at the post from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The meal includes a patty melt with French fries for $12. There is no charge for veterans.

Helen Newberry Joy Hospital and the American Legion Post 74 Honor Guard will hold a flag raising ceremony in front of the hospital. This event will officially dedicate the new flagpole as part of recent renovations to the facility.

McMillan
On Wednesday, November 12, the Northstar Christian Academy will host their annual Veterans Day program at the Northstar Baptist Church. A lunch will be served in the basement of the church at 12 p.m. with the program to follow in the church sanctuary.

Engadine
Engadine Consolidated Schools is holding a Veterans Day program in the gymnasium on November 11 beginning at 1 p.m.

Curtis
A Veterans Day program will be hosted by Three Lakes Academy on November 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the school.

Paradise
Whitefish Township Community Schools will host a Veterans Day program at the school on November 11 at 10 a.m.
