Halloween is just around the corner, and Newberry’s Dr. Jim Surrell has been making the rounds with fresh Halloween jokes.
Here’s what else is happening in the area:
Boo-Berry Fall Fest-October 19
Yooper Youth is hosting a Boo-Berry Fall Fest this Saturday, October 19 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Knierim Park and the Barn Ice Rink on West Ave C in Newberry.
From 12-12:30 p.m., the event is reserved for sensory friendly guests.
The event also includes the popular Halloween Carnival featuring 20 fun games for kids with prizes at each game. There will also be a scavenger hunt, a story walk, a balloon artist, and food vendors.

Trick or treating
—There will be a trunk or treat Halloween safety event at Nicolet Bank on Saturday, October 26 from 5-7 p.m.
—The Village of Newberry has announced that official trick-or-treat hours will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 31.
—Engadine Methodist Church is holding a community trunk or treat on Thursday, October 31 from 6-7 p.m. All are welcome to have a decorative vehicle and hand out candy. There will also be free hot dogs and chips for all.
