Jaquelline Snell of Golden Leaves Living Center was recently honored with The DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s programs to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.

Jaquelline was selected for the Daisy Award because of her exceptional compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to resident care. She consistently goes above and beyond to provide personalized, respectful care, taking the time to truly know each resident and advocate for their needs.

She creates a positive and supportive environment for both residents and staff, always willing to help without being asked and treating her colleagues—especially CNAs—with kindness and respect. She also serves as a mentor to new nurses and is deeply appreciated by residents for her consistency, attentiveness, and genuine heart. Jaquelline’s passion for nursing and her positive impact on everyone around her make her a truly deserving recipient of this honor.

The not-for-profit DAISY Foundation is based in Glen Ellen, CA, and was established by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Patrick died at the age of 33 in late 1999 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a little known but not uncommon auto-immune disease. The care Patrick and his family received from nurses while he was ill inspired this unique means of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and patient families.

“Through kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication – often when the world is asleep – Jacquelline turns nightshift care into extraordinary moments,” said Chief Nursing Officer Cindy Donajkowski. “Her compassionate presence at Golden Leaves Living Center is a powerful reminder that true caregiving shines brightest in the quiet hours.”
