Old iron from yesteryear will come alive this weekend at the Annual Old Iron Show in Engadine. The show will be held at the Engadine Consolidated Schools practice field on Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8.
Visitors will be treated to displays of antique/vintage tractors, fly-wheel engines, and old cars and trucks. There will also be a craft show, old iron parade, and live music Saturday evening.
At 1 p.m. on Friday, a tractor ride will start from the practice field. From 4:30 to 7 p.m., American Legion Post 290 will offer a fish fry dinner.
Saturday events start with a breakfast served at the American Legion 290 from 8 to 11 a.m. The Old Iron Show will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. At 1 p.m., Molly Burton will sing the National Anthem, then the parade will start.
There are also several activities for kids to enjoy. The Garfield Township Fire Department will offer fire truck tours and demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tractor wagon rides will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon, and face painting is available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A tractor skills event at 2 p.m. will put that old equipment in action. Those events will include a blindfold race, reverse gear race, chain and square competition, and closest to the 2×4.
Food vendors will be on site throughout the day.
The Old Iron Show will conclude with a ceremony and presentation of trophies at 4 p.m.
The Mark Bowen Band will present live music from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Garfield Township Hall pavilion.
The event is organized by the Top of the Lakes Communities Association. There is no cost to register or enter the show.
